8 Laguna cops given recognition

CAMP PACIANO RIZAL, Sta. Cruz, Laguna – Eight police personnel from the Liliw Municipal Police Station (MPS) were awarded the Certificates of Recognition by the Laguna Police Provincial Office during Monday’s first flag raising ceremony for year 2018 in this camp here.

Police Senior Inspector Gerry L. Sangalang, chief of the Laguna police provincial public information office (PIO) told PNA that Liliw’s chief of police Senior Inspector Raymund Alfred S. Osea led the awardees in recognition for their successful implementation of “Project Janitor Fish,” which resulted in the arrest of the rape suspect Kenny Ballesteros Mendoza last year.

According to Sangalang, the seven other awardees included SPO1 Sheryl D. Panambo, PO3 Reynald V Montes, PO2 Jessie Trinidad, PO1 Edgue Vargas, PO1 Mark Francis Sampaga, PO1 Angelo Siman and PO1 Jun Benedict Reyes.

He said that the eight Liliw cops conducted their operation under “Manhunt Charlie” in relation to “Project Janitor Fish” for the capture of Mendoza last Dec. 24, 2017 in Barangay San Miguel II, Bacoor City, Cavite.

The operation was pursuant to a warrant of arrest for the crime of rape issued by Presiding Judge Matias M. Garcia II of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 19 in Bacoor City, Cavite.

The accused was ranked Number 1 in the list of top ten most wanted persons under Manhunt Charlie.

Laguna acting Provincial Police Director Senior Supt. Cecilio R. Ison Jr. has expressed his commendation for the eight cops for their exemplary performance and dedication to duty.

Ison said that their laudable efforts “will immensely contribute to the attainment of the mission of Laguna Police Provincial Office and the whole Philippine National Police (PNP).

He also urged the police force to welcome the New Year with renewed commitment, vigor, dedication and proper performance of duty and reminded them on observing financial management in ushering 2018. (PNA)
