President Duterte condoles with slain cop’s family in Tagum City

 

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, June 29, condoled with the family of a slain police officer in Davao del Norte.

The President visited the wake of SPO1 Niño Gaurino Moreno in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

President Duterte awarded the PNP Efficiency Medal or the Medalya ng Kagalingan (posthumous) to Moreno “for acts of conspicuous courage and gallantry in action rendered to the PNP during the attack staged by lawless armed groups last June 23.”

“[Moreno] had manifested his exceptional deed of bravery and self-sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty, an act worthy of recognition and praise by the PNP organization.”

SPO1 Moreno, an officer of Davao del Norte Provincial Police Public Safety Company (DNPPSC) 2nd Maneuver Platoon Patrol Base, was killed by an undetermined number of lawless armed groups at Barangay New Malitbog in Panabo City last June 23.

The President handed over cash assistance to the bereaved family. They also received livelihood assistance from Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

After condoling with the family, President Duterte immediately proceeded to Camp Quintin M. Merecido in Davao City.###PND
