6.0-magnitude quake rocks DavOr; Phivolcs expects aftershocks

MANILA — A 6.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Davao Oriental before noon Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The quake of tectonic origin that jolted Tarragona town had a depth of 27 kilometers, Phivolcs added.

Intensity 4 was recorded in Tarragona, Mati City, Lupon and Manay in Davao Oriental; and Tagum City in Davao del Norte.

Intensity 3 was felt in Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, and General Santos City.

Intensity 2 was reported in Bislig City; Surigao City; Alabel and Malapatan, Sarangani; and Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Phivolcs added that Intensity 2 was felt in Bislig City and Kidapawan City.
