TF Bangon Marawi meets for Marawi Crisis Rehab and Recovery

07 July 2017- Members of Task Force Bangon Marawi discuss rehabilitation and recovery plans during the task force organizational meeting today, at the Social Hall, Department of National Defense, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

TF Bangon Marawi Executive Director and DND Undersecretary for Defense Operations Cesar B Yano chaired the meeting attended by NDRRMC Executive Director and Civil Defense Administrator Usec Ricardo B Jalad and task force focal persons from DPWH, AFP, DepEd, DOH, NEDA, NHA, OCD, MinDa, OCS, DND, DOST, DSWD, NEA, DBM and DTI.

By virtue of Administrative Order No 3, TF Bangon Marawi was organized to lead the recovery, reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts for the affected communities of the Marawi crisis. Usec Cesar B Yano was designated by NDRRMC Chairperson and National Defense Secretary Delfin N Lorenzana as the Executive Director of the task force during the recent special/emergency NDRRMC Full Council Meeting.

The task force is composed of five sub-committees spearheaded by an NDRRMC member agency namely: DPWH for Reconstruction, DSWD and DOH for Health and Social Welfare, OCS for Housing, DTI for Business and Livelihood, and DILG for Peace and Order. Each sub-committee is composed of various National Government Agencies as members.

TF Bangon Marawi shall organize and deploy a Quick Response Team which will address the immediate needs of displaced and severely affected families. Further, it shall facilitate the conduct of Post Conflict Needs Assessment in Marawi City and as an offshoot of the assessment, a Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Recovery Program for Marawi City and other affected areas shall be developed.

During the discussion, TF members considered the suggestion that a sub-committee for strategic communications and Information and Education Campaigns, and for resource mobilization be added to the task force. Moreover, members agreed to ensure that all programs for rehab and recovery should be culturally sensitive considering Muslim religious beliefs and culture.
