CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan-– A drug detainee, who is to be taken to an inquest proceeding in this city, was killed Wednesday in a pursuit operation after he escaped his police escorts.

Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., police director of Bulacan, identified the victim as Raymond Omegan, 18 years old, a resident of Section 9, Phase 1, Block 1, Lot 3, Pabahay 2000, Barangay Muzon, this city.

Investigation showed that Omegan and two other detainees from the City Custodial Facility, aboard a police patrol car would be inquested before the City Prosecutors’ Office.

But as the police escorts stopped to get the certifications of the three detainees from their Barangay Anti-Drugs Abuse Council (BADAC), Omegan was able to remove his handcuff, grabbed the gun of one of his escorts and fled.
