DTI kicks off second batch of ‘Kapatid Mentor Me’ in Antique

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Antique is gearing for the second batch of its “Kapatid Mentor Me,” a program which aims to help improve the entrepreneurial skills of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Wilson Alian, in-charge of the DTI’s Negosyo Center in Antique, on Thursday said the program was first implemented in the province last May 17 to July 26, 2017.

“This coming May 9 it will already be for the second batch of MSMEs,” he said, adding that interested participants may visit their provincial office at the San Jose de Buenavista town.

The “Kapatid Mentor Me” has 10 modular sessions spanning from May 9 to July 11, 2018.

Mentors from the DTI and local Antiqueños, who have been accredited by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, would lecture on different topics such as entrepreneurial mind setting and values formation, marketing mindset, market-driven product development and innovation would be tackled.

The mentors will also have a one-on-one mentoring with participants or their mentees for free.

“This will be open for all MSMEs who are willing to attend,” Alian said.

He added that 24 participants who completed the 10 modules during the first batch will also be invited during the launching to share their business improvement.

“They will share what aspect of the business they have had an improvement,” Alian said.

Among the local mentors for the second batch are Rani Elequin Rodriguez, owner of the Advance Central College and McDonalds in Antique; Lester Mark E Yee who is the Managing Director of 7-11 stores with his latest businesses Max’s Restaurant and Shakey’s in Robinson’s Mall Antique. (PNA)
