Tuguegarao City SK and Barangay bets sign peace covenant

TUGUEGARAO CITY – Candidates for the May 14 synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls here signed a peace covenant Saturday.

The Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, the Commission on Election (Comelec) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) initiated the peace covenant signing at the cathedral here.

Archdiocese of Tuguegarao Bishop Sergio Utleg, and Comelec officer lawyer James Ramos said the candidates showed willingness to cooperate and follow the regulations imposed by the Comelec for the orderly and peaceful conduct of the elections.

Supt. George P. Cablarda, the Tuguegarao City police chief, said that the absence of Private Armed Groups (PAGs) in the city will help them smoothly implement security measures for the peaceful conduct of the elections. (Simeon Dilan/PNA)
