PRO3 to deploy 9,000 cops for barangay, SK polls in Central Luzon

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga–Some 9,000 police personnel coming from different units in Central Luzon will be deployed in various areas in the region to ensure the conduct of safe and secure Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on May 14.

Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, director of the Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon), on Friday said that some 200 quick reaction teams (QRTs) have already been deployed in the provinces of Bulacan and Nueva Ecija where most of the election hotspots are located.

At present, he said there are 210 election hotspots out of the 3,102 barangays in the region.

Corpus added that the rest of the QRTs will be stationed on strategic locations in the region three days before the election day.

Likewise, he said two police and military personnel will be deployed to every polling place on election day.

The PRO3 chief added that they will also send out police personnel assigned to do desk work and those undergoing schooling to the different polling precincts to increase the number of those tasked to ensure peaceful elections.

“We continue to carry out our mandated tasks to ensure the attainment of a safe and secure barangay and SK elections this Monday, May 14 as we relatively remain steadfast in our anti-criminality efforts,” he added.
