DTI packaging, design roadshow goes to Cavite on May 29

IMUS CITY, Cavite – In line with its goal to enhance competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon (Calabarzon) provinces, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will hold its Suppliers Trade Fair with a packaging and design forum at the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona town on May 29.

Dubbed as “Pack! Pinas: Panalong Packaging para sa Lahat,” this free seminar aims to equip the region’s MSMEs with the latest marketing trends and emerging opportunities in product enhancement in packaging and design that will level up their competitiveness, said DTI Region IV-A Director Marilou Q. Toledo in her invitation to PNA.

The seminar is offered not just to provide the latest trends in packaging but provide access to affordable and well-designed packaging materials which, the lack of or limited access to, may hamper MSMEs, Toledo said.

The roadshow, launched in April this year and brought to Visayas and Mindanao last May 3 and 16, respectively, is also where MSMEs can meet government agencies and companies that can assist in designing, branding and marketing their products.

Aside from the DTI, private sector partners will also share their expertise in Pack! Pinas.

Pack! Pinas is co-organized and supported by the MSME Development Council, the Design Center of the Philippines (DCP), the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), the Department of Science and Technology-Industrial Technology Development Institute, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Packaging Institute of the Philippines. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
