Manhunt on vs. 3 elusive GenSan drug suspects

GENERAL SANTOS CITY–Police authorities have launched a manhunt against three listed drug pushers, one of whom was named on President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s “narco-list,” after eluding arrest during separate raids here on Thursday.

Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, Region 12 police director, identified the suspects as Jo Angelo Senobago, Randy Brillantes and Mario Abalos, all tagged as “high-value target” drug personalities.

Morales said joint operatives led by elements from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-12 (RPDEU-12) recovered 18 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in search operations Thursday at the houses of the suspects in Barangays Apopong and Dadiangas North.

The operation was backed by personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-12, City Mobile Force Company, Pendatun police station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 12.

Morales said operatives recovered two sachets of suspected shabu from Abalos’ house, three from Senobago’s and 13 from Brillantes’ house.

“They were not around when the search warrants were implemented,” Morales told reporters.

The official said Abalos is included on  Duterte’s list of drug personalities from the region.

Senobago was named in the wathchlist of the Philippine National Police’s directorate for intelligence, and Brillantes in the RPDEU-12’s watchlist, according to the police official.

Morales said appropriate charges are now being readied by the RPDEU-12 against the three suspects. He said the recovered illegal drugs were sent to the Regional Crime Laboratory-12 for proper examination and valuation.

“If they don’t surrender, these suspects will have miserable lives and remain in hiding. Worse, they could even be killed if they resist arrest during operation, so they better surface and surrender,” he warned. (PNA)
