P3.3-M drugs seized in Cavite

DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite — Police arrested a suspected lady drug pusher and her companion and confiscated PHP3.3 million worth of shabu during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Datu Esmael in this city on Sunday afternoon.

Supt. Agosto Daskeo, Dasmarinas City police chief, identified the suspects as Jamila Sultan Alonto, alias “Gemma Jose” and cohort Lanie Jarique Garcia, both residents of Block 49 Lot 11 Waling-Waling St. in Barangay Datu Esmael.

Daskeo said the city’s Drug Enforcement Team confiscated from the suspects about 450 grams of suspected shabu.

He said the police operatives also recovered from the two suspects seven bundles of marked PHP1,000 bills.

The suspects and confiscated evidence were brought to the Cavite Police Provincial Office in Camp Gen. Pantaleon Garcia, Imus City for documentation and will be turned over to the Provincial Crime Lab Office for examination.

Police are now preparing the criminal cases to be filed against the two suspects for violation of Articles 5, 11 and 26 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs law, before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Dasmariñas City. (Dennis Abrina/PNA)
