BOC Dumaguete sub-port revenue reaches P1-B mark

DUMAGUETE CITY – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) sub-port here has reached the PHP1-billion mark in revenue collections exceeding its target during the first semester of this year.

As of June 30, 2018, total collections for the past six months or two quarters were pegged at more than PHP1.469 billion, said Dumaguete Customs Collector Fe Lluelyn Toring in an interview Thursday afternoon.

According to Toring, this exceeded their target collection by 30.18 percent for the same period, set at some PHP1.128 billion.

The excess in tax collections for the period covered is more than PHP340.6 million, she added.

Toring is optimistic that their office can meet or exceed this year’s target collection of PHP2.235 billion by the end of the year because of the good showing in the first six months of 2018.

The top contributors to the high revenues generated for the Dumaguete Customs office are Filoil Energy, Wilmar Edible Oils Philippines, Inc., and Dumaguete Coconut Mills, Inc., she said.
