QC hosts Bulacan; Rizal takes on San Juan

Games on Tuesday

(Henry Noble Gymnasium, Quezon City)

7 p.m.-Rizal vs. San Juan

9 p.m.-Quezon City vs. Bulacan

MANILA — Quezon City looks to emulate Cebu City’s huge home win on Saturday night as it will be its turn again to host a Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Datu Cup doubleheader on Tuesday night.

Currently near the bottom of the Northern Division standings at 2-5, the Capitals, who are back in action after nearly two weeks, will host the Bulacan Kuyas in the main game of the twinbill at 9 p.m., and a home win can spark a mid-season push from the Capitals.

The game, plus the 7 p.m. curtain-raiser between Rizal and San Juan, will be held at the Henry Noble Gymnasium inside the Trinity University of Asia in Quezon City.

Being at the upper echelon of the North standings, both the Knights and the Kuyas can stay in step with division leaders Bataan Risers with a victory.

In fact, a win against Rizal will put San Juan in a tie with Bataan at number one at 9-1.

The Crusaders, meanwhile, aims to stay close in the race for eighth place in the Southern Division standings.

A win will put them in a tie with the Basilan Steel in 11th place at 4-7, a game behind eighth-placed GenSan Warriors. (Ivan Stewart Saldajeno/PNA)
