PRRD hunting for Cabinet replacements

DAVAO CITY – President Rodrigo Duterte is still looking for new Cabinet members to replace those who will be running in the 2019 midterm elections.

“Naghahanap ako (I’m searching). But you know my choices. It has nothing to do with politics,” Duterte said during a press conference, following his arrival from Bali, Indonesia, on Friday morning at the  Francisco Bangoy International Airport here.

Duterte hinted that Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, who is reportedly seeking a congressional post in Taguig City, may be replaced by Teddy Boy Locsin, the country’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Locsin had reportedly accepted the offer.

Duterte is also set to talk to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, who has gone on leave this week, to determine whether the latter  is running or not in May elections.

Meantime, he confirmed that Presidential Legal Adviser Salvador Panelo has been designated as the temporary spokesperson.

Also, the President confirmed that Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar will still be around once the PCOO is reverted to the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS). (Lilian C Mellejor/PNA)
