The Commission on Audit (COA) Sub-Chapter of the Philippine Institute for Civil Engineers (PICE) Quezon City together with the Philippine Government Audit Service Employees Association (PHILGASEA) has once again joined hands in making the community greener during their 2nd tree planting activity last November 17 at the La Mesa Nature Reserve.

The tree planting project, in cooperation with Department of Environment and Natural Resources National Capital Region (DENR NCR) aims to plant 500 Kamagong trees and is a part of PICE and PHILGASEA’s corporate social responsibility activity to promote ecological and sustainable development within the nature reserve in Quezon City.
Laurence Tato, National Board Director of PHILGASEA and 1st Vice President of PICE QC Chapter noted that it is a call to engineers and auditors alike to not limit themselves to their duties but to “also help the environment.”
Meanwhile, PICE QC COA Sub-Chapter President Flora Ruiz encouraged other organizations to include tree planting in their activities.
“Ano man ang projects ng sub chapter o ano mang organization, mas maganda na kasali ang tree planting kasi alam naman natin kung ano ang problema natin ngayon lalo na sa flooding,” Ruiz said.
PICE QC COA Sub-Chapter would like to thank Chief Operating Officer Randy T. Estrellado and Water Supply Operations Head Engr. Ronald Padua of Maynilad Water Services, Inc. for this project.
