KORONADAL CITY — Local business owners may soon transact online after the local government tapped the Land Bank of the Philippines’ (LandBank) e-payment system.
Mayor Peter Miguel said Tuesday local officials signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with LandBank for the rollout of its Link.Biz Portal in the area starting next year.
Link.Biz is an electronic or e-payment facility that allows clients to pay for various products and services from both the government and private institutions via the Internet.
Miguel said the local government will use the e-payment system for business registration and renewal of permits.
“This is part of our efforts to further improve customer services at the city government through electronic banking,” Miguel said in an interview with reporters at the city hall.
The mayor said technical teams from the local government and LandBank are currently finalizing the system to facilitate its use during the scheduled annual registration and renewal of business permits in January.
He said the city government has been continuously rationalizing its business registration and renewal systems to further ease the processes as mandated by the national government.
“We’re currently looking at other electronic means of processing payments that our clients can also use,” he added.
