TUGUEGARAO CITY — Local government units (LGUs) in Region 2 are getting some technical help from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in promoting their proposed projects to investors.

Recently, the regional offices of the DTI and the DILG held in this city an activity called “On-Site Technical Assistance on the Preparation/Updating of Project Profiles and Investment Promotion Collaterals” for select Region 2 LGUs.

During the activity, the team of DTI R02 and DILG R02 met with the Local Economic and Investments Promotion Offices to discuss and finalize proposed projects, which the LGUs want to communicate to prospective investors. The Investment Promotion Collaterals, or marketing tools, of the LGUs were also reviewed.

“By capacitating the local investment promotion officers with the essential investment promotion strategies, LGUs are assured that they get to communicate the most relevant messages to investors,” Charles Irvin P. Tagarino, DTI Region 2’s trade and industry development specialist, said.

Among the LGUs given technical assistance are Tuguegarao City and Baggao town in Cagayan province; the cities of Ilagan, Cauayan, and Santiago in Isabela province; Bambang town in Nueva Vizcaya province; and the provincial governments of Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.
