MANILA — Bulacan ended 2018 with a home loss.

After Navotas came to the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos, Bulacan on Saturday night, Bulacan started 2019 with yet another home defeat in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

The Clutch rode behind a hot night from Jai Reyes and Richard Albo’s second quarter show to maul the Kuyas, 98-89.

Navotas went on a 33-13 second quarter blast led by Albo to pull away for good even as Reyes was efficient all game long to keep Bulacan, which came alive in the third quarter, at bay.

Reyes finished with 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting and six assists, while Albo added 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting, two rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal off the bench for Navotas, which is now in solo sixth place in the Northern Division at 8-10.

Marlon Gomez and Jojo Duncil each chipped in 14 markers.

Jason Melano and James Martinez each contributed 18 points for Bulacan, which fell to 11-8.
