CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Total crime volume in this province declined by 45.18 percent in 2018 as a result of an intensified drive against crimes and lawlessness.
Data from the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) showed that the total number of crime incidents in 2018 was 16,393, which is 13,512 cases lower compared to 29,905 in year 2017.
Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, provincial director of the Bulacan PNP, said on Tuesday the remarkable decline in crimes was due to the continuous simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations, police information drive against criminality and maximum police visibility.
Data also showed that the eight focus crimes such as murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, car/motornapping, and cattle rustling decreased by 48.98 percent, from 3,738 in year 2017 to 1,907 in 2018.
Meanwhile, the crime solution efficiency rate increased to 4.15 percent while the crime clearance efficiency rate rose to 2.87 percent in 2018.
“The Bulacan police will continue to strive hard and implement more drives against all forms of criminality in the province,” Bersaluna said.
