Alleged high ranking CPP-NPA official arrested in Bulacan

A joint operation of the Philippine Army (PA) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Dec. 8 was conducted in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan that led to the arrest of an alleged top official of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).

The 47-year old CPP-NPA leader was identified as Janeth Cruz, also known as “Aryang,” “Libay,” “Ditsy,” “Laura,” “Frankie,” “Trixie,” “Ali,” and “Maribel,” a native of San Rafael, Tarlac and a resident in Brgy. Muzon, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.

Cruz served as the Secretary of CPP-NPA in the Central Luzon Regional Committee and Regional White Area Committee.

Cruz was nabbed through a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 71 in Iba, Zambales for murder and attempted murder.

Meanwhile, Cruz is currently detained in the CIDG detention cell where the court recommended no bail for her freedom. – gb
