Sweltering heat to start the week?
Looks like it’s about time to keep sunscreen, an umbrella, and a bottle of water handy when heading outdoors, as PAGASA noted 28 locations across the country that are set to experience hot weather on Monday.
In the agency’s heat index bulletin, 6 of these places can experience temperatures as high as 44°C—Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Laoag, Ilocos Norte; Aparri, Cagayan; CLSU, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Sangley Point, Cavite City, Cavite; and Cuyo, Palawan.
Searing hot temperatures are also expected in the following locales:

These temperatures showcase the prevalence of easterlies over most of the country, with hot, humid air from the Pacific Ocean continuing to fuel the summer season in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, the state weather bureau continues to monitor Tropical Depression Caloy and LPA 05c outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), with the former continuing to weaken and the latter unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone.
