Ban on live hogs, pork products from Luzon stays

The local government of Cebu has banned the importation of pork from Luzon to protect the pig industry of the province from being infected with the African Swine Fever (ASF). The Philippine Association of Meat Processors, Inc said that meat manufactures are bearing the brunt, cutting production from 10 to 20%. Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture (DA) is set to release a comprehensive guidelines on the entry of meat products.
