BOC-Dumaguete exceeds 2017 target collection by P126.6M

DUMAGUETE CITY -– The Bureau of Customs (BOC) sub-port office here has exceeded its target revenue collection for 2017 by more than PhP 126.6 million.

Dumaguete Customs Collector Fe Lluelyn Toring said Wednesday that their actual collection has reached more than PhP 1.429 billion from January to Oct. 11 this year, which is more than the 2017 targeted tax collection of PhP1.303 billion.

For the first 11 days of October alone, they already collected more than PhP 40 million, she said.

Records showed that for the first quarter of the year, the Dumaguete sub-port office collected more than PhP443.4 million; for the second quarter, more than PhP425 million; and in the third quarter, more than PhP521 million.

Toring expressed confidence that more income will be generated for the rest of the fourth quarter.

She attributed most of the collections to Filoil, which is the leading importer of petroleum products and the biggest contributor to the revenue collection of the sub-port office. (PNA)
