Caritas appeals for prayers, donations for ‘Odette’ victims

QUEZON CITY – The lead social service and development ministry of the Catholic Church in the Philippines, Caritas Manila, is appealing for prayers and donations to help victims of Typhoon Odette.

Through its Damayan Program, Caritas calls for prayers and donations to help dioceses affected by the super typhoon especially in this time of the pandemic.

According to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), some of the dioceses severely affected include:

  • Diocese of Surigao (especially Dinagat and Siargao Island)
  • Archdiocese of Cagayan De Oro
  • Diocese of Butuan
  • Diocese of Tagbilaran
  • Diocese of Maasin

Cash donations at this time of crisis will help meet the initiatives of the Church in providing for the immediate needs of the affected.

Proceeds will go to:

  • Manna Food Bags – P700
  • Shelter Materials – P5,000
  • Clean Water – P110
  • Bedding Materials – P1,000
  • Hygiene Items – P800
