The Tacloban City government suspended classes and work in the government on Thursday (Dec. 9) due to heavy rains that dumped on the Eastern Visayas region.
The shear line affecting the eastern section of the Visayas and the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon will bring rains across these islands, the weather bureau said on Thursday (Dec. 9).
The northeast monsoon or "amihan" and a low-pressure area (LPA) will bring scattered light rains and slightly colder weather in several parts of the country this weekend.
MANILA – Isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms will prevail over most parts of the archipelago according to the weather bureau on Tuesday.
Some areas in the country will experience scattered rain showers caused by weather systems affecting northern Luzon and Mindanao, the weather bureau said on Monday (Nov. 29).
Scattered rains are expected in the eastern section of northern and central Luzon due to the presence of the shear line or the tail-end of the frontal system while Palawan and Mindanao will feel the effects of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau reported Saturday, Nov. 27.
