UNITED NATIONS -- United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on April 26 and 28 respectively, a UN spokesman said Friday, April 22.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, April 22, seized on remarks by a Russian general as evidence that Moscow would invade other countries if it succeeded in Ukraine. The general had said Russia aimed to capture all of southern and eastern Ukraine and link it to a breakaway province in neighboring Moldova.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday slashed global growth forecast for 2022 to 3.6% amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, 0.8 percentage points lower than the January projection, according to its newly released World Economic Outlook report.
