Cayetano clarifies HoR-Senate relationship OK

House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano assures the HoR maintains good working relationship with the Senate amid the issue of special authority bestowed on President Rodrigo Duterte.

Cayetano said he has talked with Senate President Vicente Sotto III to clarify the matter but could not help but counter Senator Risa Hontiveros’ alleged politicking who was against the emergency powers.

In a Twitter post, Hontiveros rebutted Cayetano and said she only wants to make sure public funds would be spent properly.

Meanwhile, Cayetano called out to those concerned to stop spreading fake news on the supply or lack thereof of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the country.

He has admitted the shortage of supply but added spreading wrong information does not help.

“Crucify me kung mali talaga ‘yung sinabi ko (if what I said is wrong) or I’m causing damage rather than help. But I’m trying to be one of the people who will help to communicate what has to be done,” he said.

Cayetano also believes that Bayanihan to Heal as One Act will speed up in providing the needs of health workers. – Report from Daniel Manalastas
