Cebu City allows Simbang Gabi in chapels

The local government of Cebu City is now preparing for Misa de Gallo along with other activities during the upcoming Christmas season.

The city Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has allowed masses to be held in chapels, aside from churches, subject to coordination with its office to ensure observance of health standards.

A 50% maximum crowd capacity will be observed in the area. Vendors will also be allowed to operate around the church’s vicinity.

It also recommended shortening curfew hours from 11:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

The EOC reminded the public to avoid bringing children in the masses, saying that it is still a form of “gathering.”

Meanwhile, both the Church and local government units are appealing to devotees to get vaccinated. – Report from John Aroa (PTV Cebu)/AG-rir
