Cloudy skies, rain showers to prevail over most of PH

By Ma. Cristina Arayata / Philippine News Agency

Most areas in the country will experience rain showers due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan, the Visayas, and Mindanao, and the shear line affecting the eastern section of northern Luzon.

The Visayas, Mindanao, Palawan, Sorsogon, and Masbate will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, the weather bureau said Monday (Nov. 15).

Weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Batanes and Cagayan will experience cloudy skies and light rains.

“The rest of Luzon will have fair weather, and isolated thunderstorms,” he added.

Meanwhile, a gale warning has been issued over the seaboards of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the northern coast of Ilocos. Rough to very rough seas will prevail over these areas.

PAGASA also forecast moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas over northern Luzon. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

Aurelio said there is no weather disturbance inside the Philippine area of responsibility. (PNA) – jlo
