Cloudy Sunday due to easterlies; LPA spotted off N. Luzon

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

PAGASA weather specialist Sumuel Duran said the LPA, located 1,775 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone and unlikely to enter PAR.

In a 4 a.m. bulletin, the weather bureau said easterlies still affect the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies or localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA warned.

The whole country will have slight to moderate seas with light to moderate heading northeast to east winds in Luzon and Visayas and light to moderate winds going southeast to southeast in Mindanao.

The temperature will be around 24.5°C to 32.2°C. – gb
