Comelec kickstarts voter registration

By Katrina Gracia Consebido

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) resumed voter’s registration on Monday, Dec. 12, in all its offices in all municipalities and cities throughout the country.

According to the Comelec’s report from their regional offices, officials and election supervisors, the number of applicants who registered on Monday is “good” and saw a large number of registered voters in cities with high population numbers.

The Comelec also said that there is a high number of young people who registered to participate in the Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Meanwhile, Comelec also launched their “Register Anywhere Project” where the applicant can register to be a registered voter even if it’s not their voting precinct.

The registration will run until Jan. 22, 2023.

The Comelec advised the public to all applicants to register earlier and avoid the hassle of last minute registration. -gb
