Convicted drug lords in jails to face probe – PNP

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PGen. Camilo Cascolan has ordered an investigation on the incessant illegal drugs operations inside jail facilities by some drug lords despite their incarceration.

“I have directed PDEG (PNP Drug Enforcement Group) to coordinate closely with PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) and (Bureau of Correction) BUCOR to validate information of the alleged continued operation of illegal drug activities by a convicted drug lord even while serving sentence inside prison,” Cascolan stated.

The probe was triggered by the confiscation of Php 47.6 million worth of shabu from three men in an operation conducted in Cebu City last Sunday.

One of the arrested suspects revealed that the seized drugs belong to convicted drug lord Rustico Ygot alias “Dikoy” who was imprisoned due to drug charges in 2013. – Report from Bea Bernardo
