The price of highland vegetables at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post such as broccoli, lettuce, radish, celery, bell pepper, garden peas, and Benguet beans has increased this week due to low supply and unstable demand.
The price of cabbage, wombok, carrots, and sayote which has been down since the COVID-19 pandemic began also slightly went up.
Hinahabol nila ito para sa Christmas po (but the price of leafy vegetables slightly rose because it is currently planting season. They are preparing for Christmas),” LTVTP Admin. Wilson Revilar explained.
Farmers have welcomed the adjustment of prices and are expecting it to stay this way until Christmas.
However, the price of potatoes dropped amid high supply.
Our farmers thought the typhoon would hit us so they harvested before Typhoon Rolly’s landfall. That is why our stock for potatoes increased),” Revilar explained.
