More than 2,000 UV Express units to resume operations

A total of 2,428 UV Express units are set to resume operations in 20 routes in the National Capital Region (NCR) amid the reopening of the economy, according to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

The LTFRB reported that there is now a total of 6,755 UV Express units plying 118 routes in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

The additional routes include Karuhatan – North Road Rail Station Terminal (NRRS) (Trinoma), Karuhatan – SM North EDSA/Trinoma, Robinson’s Place Novaliches – Vito Cruz, Robinson’s Place Novaliches – Buendia, Rosario (Pasig) – McKinley Hills (Taguig), San Bartolome – MRT (North Ave.), San Roque (Marikina) – Commonwealth Market, SM Fairview – Buendia, SM Fairview – T.M. Kalaw via Commonwealth, SM North C.I.T. – T.M. Kalaw, SM South Mall – Quiapo, Southmall – Lawton, Sto. Niño (Marikina) – Ayala, Sto. Niño (Marikina) – Ortigas Center, Sucat (Parañaque) – Lawton (Park ‘ Ride), Tandang Sora (Visayas Ave.) – T.M. Kalaw, Trinoma Mall – Robinson’s Novaliches via Commonwealth, Rodriguez (Montalban) – Araneta (Cubao), Rodriguez – Cubao, and Montalban Central Terminal – Cubao Central Terminal.

The agency urged operators and drivers to maintain the strict implementation of minimum health standards to prevent the Coronavirus transmission.

Public transportation was suspended late March of this year after the government imposed strict nationwide community quarantines due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Public transportation vehicles were eventually allowed in NCR when the general community quarantine was imposed.
