Department of Agriculture Secretary William Dar denied on Wednesday, June 29, his involvement in the smuggling of agricultural products in the country.
Dar said he was determined to abolish any kinds of corruption in the department.
He reiterated that he had a reshuffling of staff when he took the post due to numerous reports about corruption and smuggling.
“Wala pong katotohanan ‘yan, noong pagdating ko talagang binalasa ko kasi maraming reports na ganoon ang nangyayari,” he said.
The official also reassigned several personnel of the department due to their involvement in corruption.
Meanwhile, he said they will have their own investigation as they “take note” of the Senate investigation involving some of their staff. —Report from Cleizl Pardilla/KC-ag
