DFA welcomes 301 distressed from Kuwait

PR

PASAY CITY 05 April 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in its fifth straight day of repatriations, welcomed another 301 of our kababayans from Kuwait.

Sunday morning’s flight is one of many mounted flights of Kuwait Airways commissioned to bring home hundreds of Overseas Filipino Workers from the Gulf State who have benefited from the ongoing amnesty program of the Kuwaiti government.

The amnesty program has enabled our OFWs to forfeit payment of legal fines and avail of flights back to the Philippines, courtesy of the Kuwaiti government.

The Bureau of Quarantine guided them on disembarkation health measures to ensure the safety of our kababayans.

In support of the whole-of-government approach, the DFA and its partner agencies, including the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, will continue to render assistance to Overseas Filipino Workers all over the world.
