DICT’s Free Wifi for All under way

On his 100th day as chief of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Sec. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan soearheaded the launching of The Free Wifi for All at the Army General Hospital in Fort Bonifacio along with 17 others in different parts of the country. The Free Wifi for All project of the DICT which is anchored on Republic Act No. 10929 was signed by Pres. Duterte on 02 August 2017. As of October 2, there are now 3000 live free wifi sites nationwide. The project is expected to benefit a great number of people including Filipino soldiers deployed in remote areas but could now directly communicate with their families. The free connectivity is also expected to boost businesses and help the economy grow.
