The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) assured the continuous preparation of the local government units (LGUs) for the incoming vaccines in June.

In President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s recent public address, DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said that in line with the national government’s vaccination program, there are currently 36,037 barangay health emergency response teams (BHERTS) nationwide while 29,384 personnel are managing the Emergency Operation Centers (EOC) in the country.

“Nasa 34,046 na katao ang kumikilos upang siguraduhin ang pagsunod ng ating mamamayan sa iba’t ibang protocols for management of COVID infections, habang nasa 28,210 ang masigasig nating personnel sa iba’t ibang quarantine facilities sa bansa,” Año added.

Sec. Año assured that the LGUs are ensuring that adequate vaccination centers for the public are part of their preparation for the national vaccination program as well as cold chain storage facilities and transportation of the vaccine vials.

The DILG Chief also called on the LGUs to provide a fast lane or express lane for the A1, A2, A3 categories amidst the vaccination of the A4 group. -rir
