DILG orders Zambo barangays to inventory properties

ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has ordered the barangays to conduct inventory of its properties and records.

DILG City Director Moh. Taha Arakama told the Philippine News Agency it is in preparation for the conduct of the May 14, 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Arakama said the inventory would include the following: barangay properties; documents; and, financial records.

Arakama said the inventory would ensure that the properties of the barangay, supplies, finances that were in the actual possession or entrusted to concerned barangay officials and employees including reports on damage, lost items, or repaired items were all accounted.

He said the inventory must be completed before the month of June as the term of the new barangay and SK officials was effective noontime of June 30, 2018.

He said the inventory team would be composed of the barangay chairperson, treasurer, secretary, and the non-government organization (NGO) representative in the Barangay Development Council based on DILG memorandum circular 2018-12.

He said his office would supervise the conduct of the inventory to ensure compliance to the DILG circular. (R. G. Antonet Go/PNA)
