DILG serves dismissal order vs. Camarines Norte guv

LEGAZPI CITY — The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Bicol served on Wednesday a dismissal order against Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo Tallado.

The order served by DILG Regional Director Elouisa Pastor was in connection to the decision of the Office of the Ombudsman for Luzon finding Tallado to have committed grave abuse of authority and grave misconduct for terminating and transferring a provincial employee in 2012, according to Grace Tango, DILG Bicol spokesman.

The case was filed by Edgardo Gonzales from the office of the provincial veterinarian whom Tallado terminated in 2012.

Camarines Norte Vice Governor Jonah Pimentel was likewise served an order directing him to take over the post of governor, while Arthur Michael Canlas, Provincial Board member, will assume the post as vice governor of the province in accordance with Sec. 46 of Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991. (Mar Serrano/PNA)
