DOLE distributes P160M aid to workers affected by ECQ

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is distributing PhP160 million financial aid to workers gravely affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

According to DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III, more than 630,000 workers have been affected due to temporary closure of companies or lack of tools for flexible work arrangements. 170,000 of them are part of the informal sector.

Sec. Bello urges establishments to submit the requirements so that the cash assistance, under the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP), can be given to the workers.

The DOLE Chief also clarifies that this one-time cash aid under CAMP is different from the PhP 5,000 to PhP 8,000 cash subsidy from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). – PTV News
