DOLE eyes 7-day quarantine period for returning OFWs

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will appeal to shorten the imposed quarantine period for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are vaccinated in other countries.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said on Tuesday (June 22) that he will suggest imposing a seven-day quarantine period from the current 10 days for the vaccinated returning OFWs. He added that the shortened period will greatly help in the decongestion of quarantine facilities.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) initially said that many Filipinos in other countries do not want to return to the Philippines because of the 10-day quarantine despite their vaccination against COVID-19.
