DOT suspends accreditation of City Garden Grand Hotel

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has suspended the accreditation of City Garden Grand Hotel for six months.

It was proven that the said hotel where flight attendant Christine Dacera and her friends stayed on New Year’s Eve has illegally accepted guests for leisure activities, considering that it is a quarantine facility.

The DOT also revoked its certificate of authority to operate and was meted a penalty of ₱10,000 and was given the right to appeal the imposed penalties.

The tourism department has reminded accommodation establishments with a certificate to operate as a quarantine facility that they are prohibited from accepting guests for leisure purposes.

Meanwhile, hotels with certificates to operate for leisure activities are not allowed to serve as quarantine facilities. – Report from Louisa Erispe
