DOTr ready to implement 75% increase in public transport capacity

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) assured that it is prepared to implement the recommendation of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) to increase public transportation capacity to 75%.

According to the DOTr, it will implement the proposal once the NEDA and the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) have finalized the plans and policies.

The department also ensured that the minimum health protocols will still be implemented to prevent further spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The NEDA has initially recommended to increase the capacity of public transportation to 75% for the economy to recover from the impact of the global health crisis. -PTV News
