DOTr Sec. Tugade orders stricter security in public transportation

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade has ordered more stringent security measures for all transportation facilities in the Philippines following the twin bombings in Jolo, Sulu.

In this light, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS), headed by USec. Raul Del Rosario, has implemented the following Transportation Security Levels:
a. Security Condition (SECCO) 2 in ALL Airports in Metro Manila, Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao;
b. Security Level 1, with Enhanced Security in ALL Seaports in Metro Manila, Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao; and,
c. Security Level 1, with Enhanced Security in ALL Land Mass Transportation Facilities in Metro Manila, Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.)

The OTS calls on the public to be vigilant and cooperative with the authorities regarding information that may affect the transportation system.
