Cezario Joel Espejo, DSWD-12 director, said a Philippine Air Force (PAF) C-130 aircraft carrying emergency relief supplies7 from their central office arrived at the city international airport here around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

He said the supplies comprise 500 laminated sacks, 500 sleeping kits, 166 food packs and 50 units of tents.

Edmund Corder, DSWD-12 logistics head, received the relief goods from PAF personnel.

“These are intended for distribution in the hardest-hit areas,” Espejo said Thursday.

On Wednesday, DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista visited and led the distribution of relief goods to quake-affected residents in Korondal City and North Cotabato province.

In Koronadal City, Bautista condoled with the family of Nestor Narciso, who died after being hit by falling concrete debris during the quake.

He proceeded to Tulunan town in North Cotabato and personally offered prayers as he spoke with Meyes Angal, the father of Maricel Marla, 23, a pregnant woman who died as a result of the tremor.

Espejo said Bautisata handed over P3,000 in cash and additional burial assistance through guarantee letters.

DSWD-12’s quick response teams recorded some 1,500 affected families in Tulunan, 300 in M’lang, 1500 in Kidapawan City, all in North Cotabato. (PNA)
