The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has assured the province of a stable oxygen supply to cater to hospitals with severe COVID-19 patients.

Rowena Mayangat, DTI Consumer Protection chief said the supply of oxygen is still sufficient to address the possible surge of severe COVID-19 cases in the province.

“Based on our recent monitoring of health – related products, we still have enough supply of oxygen in Nueva Vizcaya,” she said.

Mayangat reported the post – monitoring of the Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) on the stability of oxygen supply in the province during the recent meeting of the Provincial COVID-19 Task Force at the Provincial capitol.

She said refilled oxygen tanks’ prices vary depending on their sizes which are shipped to public and private hospitals and health centers not only in Nueva Vizcaya but also in Ifugao, Isabela and Quirino provinces.

“We have visited their warehouse and they can really provide the needed supply for oxygen when the number of severe COVID-19 patients increases,” Mayangat said. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya) -rir
