Face shields now a must when going out

The use of a face shield on top of a face mask is now required for individuals going to public areas.

The latest resolution issued by the Inter-Agency for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) state that “all persons are mandated to wear full-coverage face shields together with face masks” which can “effectively lessen the transmission of COVID-19 whenever they go out of their residences.”

“It’s really because of the possibility na magkakaroon ng surge itong panahon ng kapaskuhan. So it’s additional protection para maiwasan po ang surge (It’s really because of the possibility of a surge this upcoming Christmas season. So it’s additional protection to prevent a surge),” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque explained.

Face shields were previously required by authorities for commuters using public transportation and people entering indoor establishments such as shopping malls. – PTV News Online
