MANILA — The number of families displaced by tropical depression “Maring”, which made a landfall in Mauban, Quezon on Sept. 12, has now climbed to 9,432 families or 40,966 persons.
This was disclosed by National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Ricardo Jalad in the agency’s update Saturday.
The affected families are from 292 barangays in the National Capital Region, CALABARZON and Region 3.
Of the said figure, 137 families or 612 persons are still being served in six evacuation centers while another 397 families or 637 individuals are in other facilities outside these temporary shelters.
As of this posting, PhP251,576,123.39 worth of agriculture and infrastructure damage has been reported in CALABARZON.
Around five persons were confirmed dead in landslides and floods in Rizal, Batangas, Laguna and Pasay while five are still missing. | PNA
