Fire hits Bureau of Treasury

By Gabriela Baron

A minor fire broke out on the sixth floor of the Palacio del Gobernador Building in Intramuros, Manila, which is occupied by the Bureau of Treasury (BTr).

According to the Commission on Election (Comelec), which also holds offices in the building, the fire started about 12:32 p.m. and was declared “fire out” at 12:38 p.m.

Initial reports found the fire started at the Cooperative Office of the BTr.

Comelec assured no files relating to the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (BSKE) activities have been affected by the fire.

Regular operations of the poll body, including issuance of voter’s registration and certificate, remained unaffected. -ag
